Pronoun

Hey guys…  Today we will learn pronoun. Do you know what pronounce is? Pronounce is used to change or represent people or things. Pronoun is used to prevent unnecessary repetition.

Example:
1.      Roni goes to library every week. He goes there by riding a bicycle.
The underlined word “he” is a pronoun to change or represent Roni as the subject.
 












2.      Baron is a smart students. He always gets a good score in every test he takes. Therefore, the teacher gave him good scores in report book.
The underlined word “him” is a pronoun to change or represent Baron as the object.
      














         3. Aldo is a very friendly student in his school.
The underlined word “his” is a pronoun to change or represent Aldo as the owner/possessive.

Gerund

Gerund

What is gerund?  Gerund is “verb + ing that has function as noun.
There are five (5) roles of gerund is the sentence:

1.      Gerund as Subject
-          Reading is my hobby
-          Swimming is a good sport

2.      Gerund as object
-          I don’t like cooking
-          She likes dancing
 












   3.      Gerund as object compliment
-          My hobby is reading
-          A masculine sport is boxing

   4.      Gerund after preposition
-          I am interested in reading
-          He is fond of listening music

   5.      Gerund used as noun phrase
-          My grandpa used to wear walking stick.
-          The singing bird is a beauty.

Command

Command

Do you know guys about “command”?
Command is used when we try to ask other/s to do something we want.







1.      It is begun with Infinitive verb and ended with exclamation mark.
Example:  Close the door!
                  Clean your bedroom!

2.      If it uses adjective, we should put “be” on the front.
Example: Be gentle to that old man!
                 Be creative to solve this problem!

Conditional Clause

Conditional Clause

Conditional clause is also called If clause. This clause is used to show the requirement of something that may happen if the requirement is fulfilled. Some may happen, some are impossible to happen.


Example:
If I have much money, I will buy many books.
Here, the author will buy many book, if the requirement is fulfilled, if he has much money.

There are three (3) kinds of conditional clause.

I.                    To show that something is possible to happen



 
If + S + V1, + S + Will + V1

Example:
-          I will come if you invite me


II.                  To show unreal present (That something is impossible to happen now because it is only imagination.



 

                         If + S + V2, + S + would + V1



                          Example:
-          She would stay here if his husband worked in that bank.



 

If + S + V2, + S + would + V1


Example:
-          If I were wise, I would be calm.

III.                Unreal past (That something is impossible to happen because the activity was in the past tense.




 
If + S + had + V3, + S + Would + Have + V3


example:  
-   If I had not missed the bus, I would not have come late
